Random colorful hairbands lying on my friends laptop.

Clicked these handwoven doormats on a visit to the market. Full of different colours these mats were very cheaply priced. And are really pleasing to the eyes 🙂
Couldn’t help buying them, got a couple of them and now they enhance the entry way of my house 🙂

Weekly Photo Challenge: Friendship

Hey everyone! I am so happy to be back ! Missed out on some really challenging themes but really was super busy the past whole month and then had been to a short, well deserved…ahem…vacation!
Nonetheless, m happy to be back here! Back to the good old blogosphere.

Here’s my interpretation of Friendship! Friendship is not limited to boundaries nor relations. You can be good friends with your pets, your parents, siblings and even Bikes! Yes i have a friend who claims to be best friends with his oh-so-macho bike! 🙂 I am myself close to my sis and a couple of cousins, and we share a very special bond.

So here’s a snap of me (extreme left) with my cousins and friends, taken on a memorable trip to a beautiful hill station. They were all busy looking at something below unaware that m snapping them. But then at the last moment I decided to join them so set the camera on timer and reached just in time to get clicked! Hence the pose! 😛

Weekly Photo Challenge: Blue

One of my favourite perfume’s absolutely gorgeous bottle is my inspiration for this week’s theme. Love the light- blue bottle that’s shaped like a drop of water. Hope you enjoy it!

And a pair of blue rajasthani jhumkas!

Hedwig was in town!

My knowledge of owls is limited to Harry Potter’s Hedwig and the owl jewelery that m absolutely fond of. So u can imagine my excitement levels when I saw this pretty lady sitting near the window sill of my neighbour’s kitchen and staring at me through her big black eyes. For convenience sake, I am assuming her to be a SHE because I believe all cute beings on this earth are females. 😛 kidding…

As we don’t see many owls in our locality, and a white one being a complete rarity, I had to take snaps of this special one! And as she was totally enjoying the attention, she happily obliged me and was in no hurry to fly away. One of my close friends and fellow photographer informed me that the species is a Barn Owl. Their best feature is their heart-shaped face and tawny markings. Here’s our desi indian version of Hedwig.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused

Took this photo while travelling in a tourist bus after an emotional visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp. My last glimpse of the Death Factory. The structure that you see beyond the wall is one of the seven guard towers of the First concentration camp of the Nazi regime. The first emotion that i felt when i entered this camp was gloom. An eerie silence enveloped me.
Dachau concentration camp served as a prototype of the other concentration camps that were bulit later on in the nazi regime. You’ll see a same but a bigger gate at Auschwitz Concentration camp in Poland that bears the same cynical slogan “Arbeit Macht Frei” which translates to Work Makes You Free. You can see the image of the Dachau Gate here.
My interest in Holocaust began in school when i learnt about it in our History class and later on when i read Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. From that time onwards i have been gathering books, articles, watching movies and collecting CD’s, DVD’s based on the Holocaust.
Every single photograph of this place( or should i say hell?) is close to my heart, blurred or otherwise. I just could not trash any of them. Because every single photo of this camp depicts a story, an emotion, shattered dreams and some rare happy faces when the camp got liberated.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Together

I took this photo on my trip to a tiny village in konkan region.
The old buffalo breeder and his buffalos have been together for so many years now. Both depend on each other for their food and water.
